We now have our first appointment set up for next Wednesday, June 1, at 4:00 p.m. with the caseworker who was assigned to us.
We have a list of steps we go through for this adoption process. We have done Step 1 "Attend Orientation" (which was on May 6) and Step 2 "Complete and submit Application, Description of Services, Release of Information and Orientation Attendance." Step 3 is what will happen next Wednesday-- "Intake appointment: Adoption assessment completed, upon caseworker approval you will receive the hard copy paperwork, access to online paperwork, and will be required to pay the $1000 fee." The $1000 will be part of the total cost, which will be a lot cheaper than other adoption agencies.
We are excited to continue on this journey, however long it takes for us to be able to raise and love a child.
